Repository Connection

Connect a repo three ways: plain local install (no remote needed), SSH deploy key, or GitHub App (OAuth, no SSH key needed) — for teams sharing one indexed instance.

01Local install: no remote, no credentials.

02SSH deploy key: read access to one repo, nothing else.

03GitHub App: OAuth, no SSH key to manage. Teammates then connect with --remote and a personal API key.

Local install

Scan the checkout on this machine. No remote, no credentials.npx agentops-cli install

SSH deploy key

Give the server read access to one repository with a deploy key.per-repo key

GitHub App

Install the app and authorize with OAuth. No SSH key to manage.OAuth

Solo self-host: install scans locally; connect registers a stdio MCP server against it.

From the terminal

$ npx agentops-cli connect --remote <server-url>

Omit --remote interactively and connect asks which case you’re in before doing anything.
