# AgentOps

> Turns a codebase into a knowledge graph AI coding agents can query — scanning, hybrid search, curated gotchas/decisions, and 35 MCP tools, all self-hosted as a single open-core product (one Rust server, one Next.js frontend, no price gate).

AgentOps scans a repo into a persistent graph of files/symbols/dependencies, layers hybrid dense+lexical search on top, and adds a curated Gotchas/Decisions notes system for tribal knowledge. All of it is exposed to AI coding agents over MCP (35 tools across three servers) and to humans via a REST API and web UI. `docbrain`, a bundled subsystem, does the same scan-and-search treatment for third-party library documentation — including AgentOps's own docs, registered as a library automatically on first boot.

Self-hosting needs exactly one required value (`AGENTOPS_SECRETS_MASTER_KEY`) and supports Docker, a classic binary install, PM2, or Kubernetes.

## CLI

- `agentops install|status|repos|forget|docgen|changelog|note|ingest-notes|search|explain|watch` — scan a repo into the graph and work with it.
- `agentops serve|serve-api|docbrain-serve` — run the stdio MCP server, the REST API server, or the docbrain MCP server.
- `agentops sync-docs|api-key|task|init` — dependency doc auto-registration, API key generation, native task management, first-run setup wizard.
- `agentops connect [--remote <server-url>]` — connect a coding tool (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, or any other Ruler-supported agent) by registering agentops's MCP server and distributing AGENTS.md/skills. Without `--remote`, registers a local stdio server against a locally-scanned repo (solo self-host). With `--remote`, points at a server-hosted instance's `/mcp` endpoint instead (authenticated with a personal API key), for team members connecting to a shared deployment.
